Suffering

Suffering cannot abide in us
It cannot stay forever
We lose one hope
then gain another

We cannot handle it alone
For others it brings with it
Scorn, and pain, and misery
What others have we met?

Soon, it will go back
To wherever it was from
Don't choose to be in that moment
Know that better things will come

So open up your heart to suffering
And endure what you can
Any emotion is a gift from God
Whom we can't understand
