The Graveyard School (Virginia Tech)

by xxLivxx   Apr 24, 2007

I went off to school this morning
Just another normal day,
I gave my parents a hug goodbye
But "I love you" I forgot to say
Thinking nothing of it
I walked out the front door,
Got into my car
Not looking back once more
I put my books in my locker
And started off to class
All the sudden our door flew open
And all I heard were blasts
A pain it filled my body
A bullet had entered my chest
I saw a man, standing in the room
With two guns, and a bullet vest
He just kept on shooting
His eyes were filled with hate
I never knew that school this morning
Would behold my fate
33 people now are lost
No one, did the man choose to save
My once pleasant college school
Has now become a grave
I'm sorry mom and dad,
The bullet hit close to my heart
I wasn't strong enough to hold on
and from this life, I had to part
I should have said "I love you"
Before I left for school today
Now I'll never have the chance
Because my life, was taken away

What happened in Virginia was horrible.

My heart goes out to all who were affected by this tragic event.

WOW i liked this poem.. great dedication.. we all feel the loss even today.. the tragedy will find a place in our memories but we do not look back and cry at the loss but smile for the wonderful moments we've spent at virginia tech with the loved ones we've lost..
