False Love

by OHgreenman   Apr 24, 2007

Unwanted memories resurface in my mind
From gray matter; where they are lined.
Buried them deep under lock and key
Pandora's Box, my hidden misery.

Filled with deception, projectiling lies
Hidden intention, well disguised.
Rescued from years of abuse and hate
Words of love, you desecrate.

Two years to get you methadone free
Vomiting and screaming like a banshee.
Cutting arms and legs to ease the pain
Never wanting to run, like the blood from your veins.

Daily counseling for another year
To help past demons, disappear.
"Where would I be without you?"
Spat through dried cracked lips, untrue.

Last two years, still along side
Pushed away, in another you'd confide.
Drugs were your love, new lover would provide
False love, quickly untied.

    This...was beautifully written.
I found it to be very intense, hard hitting and moving.
Imagery used created very vivid pictures, each line better than the last and the word choice was an absolute pleasure to read.

Very powerful write Greenie, emotional and filled with pain. It's a shame what happens to those with this type of addiction and they never realize what it does to those who love them. Well done!
