Can't Hold On

I can't hold on
I can't take the pain
I'm hanging from a ledge
Completely engulfed by flames

I'm burning, sizzling
Won't somebody help?
My skin is beginning to blister
Soon it's going to melt

I can't hold on
The pain grows more intense
My fingers are slowly slipping
I grab for your hand - my last defense

But as I reach out
My other hand slips
I keep grabbing
But I've lost my grip

I couldn't hold on
Now here I lie
Burning in flames -
It's such a horrible way to die.
