That old women

by Devon lansdown   Apr 24, 2007

Such a sense of memory
you see in an old womens eyes
a life of lost friends and family
were everyone ever loved dies

such wisdom and despair you see from her
a lifetime of stories to tell
of toys or books and adventures
of her lifetime as a young girl

such a fear of the world around her
her life changing day by day
from family life to inventions
technology is all she can say

to her life is like a window
open to all like a book
a century of love and mothering
all gave with one beady look

a child once needing a mother
to a grandmother needing a nurse
alone and needy and suffering
could being old get any worse?...
