What Hurts The Most

by aDORKable x3   Apr 24, 2007

What hurts the most is losing you,
when I didn't know right from wrong.
I never meant you any harm-
but I waited too long and you're gone.

What hurts the most are the memories;
all the times we spent together.
How could I let our love die?
This was a pretty short forever.

What hurts the most is our song;
the words still stuck in my head.
I try to remove all my thoughts,
but all I see is you, instead.

What hurts the most are our pictures-
those moments captured in time.
Like our own private, little book-
each representing a single line.

What hurts the most is my heart:
because it's on the floor, broken.
I wish I could take back what I said;
I wish I had never spoken.

What hurts the most is the love
I still hold inside. It's true-
that no matter what you you may think
What Hurts The Most is you.

    Awe Ciao, that was amazing, and I could really relate to that..but you really did a wonderful job on pulling the reader in and explaining the emotion of the poem without overloading it with cliches and metaphores. I loved this, and the end truly did wrap it up perfectly.
