I never knew you
Never saw your face
But inside I feel like
I knew you from someplace
Never actually met you
But you're always around
I feel you everywhere
Hear your voice in every sound
Are you here to haunt me
Or simply a hidden friend
A ghost of past memories
To remind me they don't end
Simply lost, or trying to speak?
Worried for a friend we both hold dear
Or just wishing that
You could still be here
Ghost of past times
Of memories now since gone
Lost to the sands of time
Laid to rest; no longer belong
Yet remaining in my heart
Always there bidden or not
To make sure that
The past is never forgot.
