My better half

by Bittersweet Sundown   Apr 25, 2007

There was a boy
And he stole my heart
He told me that
We'd never part.
He promised to be
My everything
But took it all back
And left a sting.

This sting remains
To burn within
Even though now
I know I can't win.
He's left his mark
Inside of me
The scar he left --
My first baby.

I will carry this burden
Through thick and thin
To hold on to my love's
Fatal sins.
He scarred me,
Left me here to rot
And his unborn child
Will soon be taught.

"Oh darling,
Daddy's gone away.
I'm not sure if he'll
Be back some day...
But if he doesn't
Be sure to know,
That your mother dearest
Loves you so..."

"Baby, don't cry
I'm sure he cares.
He'll be home some day
Please wipe your tears...
Mommy hates to
See you cry
So come on dear
Let's dry your eyes..."

"Don't feel bad
About what he's done.
It's not your fault
He decided to run...
That bastard will pay
For the lives he's ruined.
He'll wake up and realize
Just what he's doing..."

Wow that was a beautiful poem and very true about so many women out there. I hate when guys do that, it shows how idiots they can be. I liked it, well done. Good emotion in it
