Drowning Sun

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Apr 25, 2007

Drowned in the sorrows of yesterday and the misery of today
The golden sun hangs by a thread in the shattered sky,
Sighing, he swears under his breath that he'll be something one day
And in his flawless ambiguity, a porcelain tear falls down on me
But from the shards of his crystal heart, I make myself a dress,
And with my shaking hand, I reach up to the burning cinders of Heaven,
My heart clouded in my eyes, beating for the timeless anguish within,
And in my desolate palm, I hold a broken heart close to me,
Beating to the song inside my head, as I pray for just one night,
To dance above the tainted city lights, tap my toes along the skyline,
And as this fainted smile burns it's misery into my face
I laugh in the remembrance of the drowning sun and his stars,
Holding me up without a care in the world, his arms around my waist,
And as my blue eyes shine with discontent, the wind holds me weightless,
Strewn across the horizon with the golden stars in my eyes,
And the sand is crystallized between my toes, holding me back.

    Jenna, your writing is breath-taking.
The way you write is so flawless and fluid like, i would love to be able to write free verse like this some day, i didn't even notice that it was free verse untill about half way through, the rhythm is spot on.
Your vocab choice was excellent, very unique =)
