Together that day

Their eyes had met
but their love remained so separate
she pushed for a chance
to show him it wasn't desperate
that they could be perfect
but he just wouldn't let
her push away the boundaries

just to recognize

he came and sat
right next to them
she thought she had loved them
but she was better now to understand

they invited them to go
somewhere else
so far away
anywhere close
they weren't sure
if they wanted to go
they could get caught out
but the offer was too tempting to say no

she saw him there
yet another one she had loved
she remained without him
and turned her head
shyness took over her
because she felt so unsure
whether he loved her
and wanted her like he had before

they surrounded her
as she sat in the back seat
the car began to speed up
and their eyes began to meet
she prayed silently that he would slow down
but sitting so quiet
she didn't make a sound
it became faster and faster
and they began to play tricks
in just a moment
their lives could be taken
as the car began to scrape
they stared into each others eyes
they thought it might slow him down
but they remained surprised

their hearts starting to beat
faster then ever
the rush that they felt
was so different from together
they felt so scared

that night when they were picked up
and taken home
she went to her bedroom
she felt so alone
her day had been the most amazing
she had ever had
something so special
a secret that no one but them could know
she thought it was reason
that she could never tell them
that day they had been speeding
with some guys that they didn't want them to know
these guys had made this girls life so happy
somewhere acceptable to be
the night before
she screamed and cried
but tonight she would ignore them
and in her room she would hide
cos she had a secret
that made her life so special
the rush of doing something different
and them not knowing what she had
made everything OK
they yelled at her for reasons
but she just thought of her day
