The World Today

by katie   Apr 25, 2007

The sweetest boy I know in this town
But he's that boy who walks with his head hangin down
A new day a new failure is all that he sees
Oh I wish he knew what he means to me

What is wrong with the world today
Dreams being crushed and lives thrown away
Imagine if things were different, if people actually cared
Where they'd keep there promises and try to make things fair
Oh that world, what a sight to see
But how could that world possibly be?

They say she's not tall enough, not tan enough, not thin enough
Still her inner beauty shines
I wish there were awards for that
But kindness, oh no it just doesn't pay a dime

What is wrong with the world today
Dreams being crushed and lives thrown away
Imagine if things were different, if people actually cared
Where they'd keep there promises and try to keep things fair
Oh that world, what a sight to see
But how could that world possible be?

Think of all the murders
The suicides, the rapes
Think if we were all kinder
Would such a thing take place?

What is wrong with the world today
Dreams being crushed and lives thrown away
Imagine if things were different, if people actually cared
Where they'd keep there promises and try to keep things fair
Oh that world, what a sight to see
But how could that world possible be?
