The Letter

by Avaline Wood   Apr 25, 2007

Dear Reality,
So sorry,
I've been gone awhile.

Is it safe,
To show my face again?

Dear God,
What have I done,
But believe in you?

How could you do this to me?
I thought we were friends.

I wonder who gave me this brutal wound,
I wonder if this gap between me and you will ever heal.
I'm doing my best not to blame you.

Dear Life,
I have absolutely nothing to say to you.

Dear Death,
Is there something you want to say?
Tell it to my face.

Did you go on vacation,
Or take a sick day?
I anticipate your visit,
But I think you're a little late.

Yours Truly,
I've-forgotten-who.

P.S.-
Alright, who's the thief?
I won't point fingers,
But I'm disappointed in all of you.

One of you stole my happiness,
And I expect it back.

You've got till this time tomorrow to bring it back,
Or else.
