Hope

by ben thompson   Apr 26, 2007

A little longer I must hold on and wish alive my dying dreams.
Keep up appearances, grit my teeth, while I fall apart at the seams.

Embody the lone wolf, master of solitude, running against the wind.
Convince myself I'm hardened steel of which no man can bend.

Dance through darkness and searing pain, bringing most men to their knees.
Smile in contentment while I'm beaten, lying calmly as I bleed.

A little longer I must fight to survive, and defend the ones I love.
Praying to the savior when I die to take my soul up above.

Much has been taken from me, but never what I hold most dear.
And that thing is my hope, God gave me to erase all my fears.

Knowing all that you have bben through the past few years, I can say that you should be very proud of yourself and I am glad you haven't lost hope. The poem is deep and straight from your heart.
