It's Isn't Fate

by *Charisma*   Apr 26, 2007

They say that things are meant to be
But that sounds like an easy way out
From accepting the responsibility
That this world is in love's drought.

It bypasses taking on consequences
That we have really screwed up bad.
The problems on the news aren't fate,
Just proof mankind's gone mad.

Don't go telling me that children starving
While others live on the finest feasts
Is in God's plan for everyone here.
He is love and doesn't mistreat.

Or that the wars going on around us
And the killing in them taking place
Is destiny. Go ahead and say that.
Could you say it to their families face?

Does it make any sense at all to you
For God to support a certain country in war?
Didn't he make EVERYONE on earth?
So what exactly are you fighting for?

When you look at natural disasters
Do you think God caused those too?
I've heard all of the opinions
Like he's punishing me and you.

Let's take a look at the list of traits
Conquering, dominating mankind.
It seems we're ruled by hatred
Power, Divisions, Greed, we find.

Now, are those the qualities
Of our loving creator, God.
I think not, but they are the Devil's.
And this is where he's trod.

So don't tell me things should be this way
Or that it's all some plan.
I know the Devil's in control.
Look what he's done to man.

But one day God will take action.
The world won't be this way.
I look forward to his Kingdom
And the peace that will stay.

So meaningful and true in my opinion
    I especially liked those,

    From accepting the responsibility
That this world is in love's drought.

    Well done,

Ok, I really love the message in this one. And I love that you decided to do a poem on a subject we both feel very strongly about but I think the flow was a little hard for me to follow. Just a little off. But other than that it truly was beautiful. It describes everything bad in this world while still offering hope of Jehovah interfering. Great job! :)

Everything in this poem was true,
aweful to think about society these days
and what it has come to be,
but Dear, you did an amazing job!
I'm really liking your poems, haha.

"Or that the wars going on around us
And the killing in them taking place
Is destiny. Go ahead and say that.
