Sapphire

Those hollow eyes are
Reflected back into the mirror she stares at
Loneliness
Is reflected
Pain indescribable
Unmentionable
Are all there deep within that sapphire gaze
Slowly clear liquid finds its way down pale skin
Tears
Sapphire eyes are drowning in the water
There hollowness magnified by the salty drops
Then time just stops
The mirror starts to crack
Sapphire eyes widen
Pale pink lips move but no sound comes
A crack through the center
Reflecting her burning gaze
Maybe not
Maybe it reflects something else
Sapphire eyes narrow as half the mirror falls to the marble sink below
Sapphire eyes follow the glass as it falls
The pale lifeless hand reaches for it
And brings it toward her wrist-
Stop!
Sapphire eyes find there way to the mirror again
This time only one eye stands reflected
Her eye widens a second, her teeth clench
Sapphire eye begins to close
Slowly but surely
She appears to dose
Her hand reaches behind her to the wall
An attempt to stay up a reaction of regret
As sapphire eyes look up one last time
She starts to slide
Her mistake tracking her path
Crimson liquid running down the wall
The last part of the mirror follows her movements till there is no more
She gave everything she held dear
Everything she held near
Sapphire eyes remain closed this time
As the last part of the mirror cracks
And falls to its own end on the hard surface
and so does the hearts of the people who found her
When they saw the deed that one gaze had done

A/n: Sometimes all we really need is a mirror to make us see ourselves
In the true light, but even when the time calls for it that mirror you look at can be most deceiving.
