The Night

by Jason Rainey   Apr 26, 2007

Watch for the night, it will soon be here,
As time ticks by, the sooner it nears,
The sun's setting low on a reddish blue sky,
To turn around and watch the moon rise,
The day may end, but life stays firm,
The crickets soothe and a fire burns,
Warmth and calm on a winters night,
Peace inside by the fires light,
Crackle and pop are the sounds mixed in,
Romantic and whole hearts beat within,
So relaxing the night, eyes want to rest,
Night time air seems the freshest breath,
Deep inside, the body slows to a halt,
The brain dreaming of that one last thought,
For once you sleep and see total dark,
The earth is preparing a brand new start.

I really like this Jason - The words "sound" good as I read them, and nice imagery as well. Nicely done
