I Know

by doug frazier   Apr 27, 2007

Another day of shadows end, as evening draws to a close,
for I know this night the moon will shine and the dew will touch the rose.

The stars will cast a lovers glare, two souls will soon embrace,
as heavenly bodies share the dark, true love will find it's place.

The lonesome call of the Whippoorwill, will echo through the hills,
and if you don't find love tonight, I know you never will.

It's riding on the evening breeze, like dandelions on the wind,
and when you think you've lost your way, loves' glow finds you again.

Be it misty on an autumn day, or as clear as a spring time eve,
once you've tasted passions kiss, you hope it never leaves.

Never has your heart beat faster, or your mind felt such a race,
but I know the look that's in your eyes and that smile upon your face.

I know the lighting in your soul, the softness of your kiss,
I know the way your tears will fall while you are reading this.

Never fret while I'm away, my heart is there with you,
tonight while you are sleeping dear, my love will be there too.

Thanks again Andrea, I'm glad you find my work worth returning to. You're way to kind to this old humble writer. I've lived a life that has enriched my writing influences. I've known pain and love, sometimes at the same time. I have alot of poems I've not posted yet, let me know if there is any certain subject you would like to read more of. Thanks again Dear. Beware the wolf in sheeps clothing!!!.
