Heart On A Shelf

by Some Random Human   Apr 27, 2007

*Song/Poem...*

I'm plagued by your ignorance,
because in a sense,
innocence is a senseless word,
and everything that you said,
still lingering in my head,
dread what has not yet occurred,
so help me find my way back home,
I'm tired of being alone,
phone lines never seem to work,
dying from my own device,
nothing but you will suffice,
advice only makes me go berserk,

So tell my why I am like this,
broken hearted and clenched fist,
I never seem to understand myself,
so help me when I take the risk,
of losing all I have for bliss,
my heart always just winds up on a shelf,

I'm lost inside my twisted mind,
I always did get left behind,
rewind the past to gain nothing new,
I've never really understood,
why I try to do so good,
should I just give up on you,
I don't know why, I don't know how,
I promise I will keep my vow,
now tell me if you still feel the same,
I need you here by my side,
to fight away the fears I hide,
pride could only cover up my shame,

So tell my why I am like this,
broken hearted and clenched fist,
I never seem to understand myself,
so help me when I take the risk,
of losing all I have for bliss,
my heart always just winds up on a shelf,
my heart always just winds up on a shelf...
