Echoes

by Beautiful Chaos   Apr 28, 2007

Echoes of the past,
Unrequited trust,
The things we do not fix,
Slowly turn to dust.

The reason we can't love,
Live in peace or calm,
Is words are used as weapons,
Hatred dropped like bombs.

Before a shot is fired,
Before a fist does fly,
Evil words flow from lips,
Infecting the reply.

Leave the past as just an echo,
Let it live no more,
Open up your mind to answers,
You never saw before.

Drink of wisdom and dear time,
Learn before you speak,
To follow blindly in the crowd,
Won't give you what you seek.

Create an echo of your own,
For all the world to hear,
Fill it with a loving message,
And scream it without fear.

You have a way of REALLY bringing the reader in near the end of your poems, it amazes me. This is the same as your other one, I didn't think I'd like it much, but at the end I LOVED it. It was very inspirational, and I love that in poems. =)

"Leave the past as just an echo,"
