Hope (?)

by Chad Picard   Apr 28, 2007

In my own mind
I take on forms of countless avatars
and satirize
my own satyrisis
which does not itself exist as yet.

Within me I stand idle
yet always exceedingly busy
second guessing my own decisions
and reevaluating my surroundings

I fear to make a move
that I fear not to make
All for worry over consequences
I fail to see today

Fearful I am mistaken
yet afraid that I'm correct
And afraid most of all
that I will not pass her tests.

I do not want rejection
after my latest taste of pain
And, more important,
From causing harm, I must refrain

All this worry, fear, and moping
fear of success and failure equaled
leads me to just one question:
Should I seek a sequel?
