Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye
Is never easy to do
letting go could be the hardest

You walked away yesterday
I cried myself to sleep
As I turned the light off
I wished you'd come back

Memories float above my head
far beyond my grasp
I try to hold onto just one
but it vanishes through my fingertips

I look out the window
wishing to see your dim shadow
illuminated by the moonlight
walking back into my arms

Dreams may lie
My wish will never come true
My heart has failed
to love you again.

    I'll start by saying welcome =D
    I liked the emotion behind this poem i found it to be quite strong and powerful to tell you the truth.
    One think i think could make this poem a little better would be if you used the same amount of lines in each stanza, because the first one had 3 then then rest 4. I think it would make the poem flow alot better, but this didnt wreck the poem at all. Well done on this poem You put a fair amount of effort into this. In my eyes it deserves a 5/5 ~mel
