Too young to sit in the passenger's seat

by XJulesX   Apr 14, 2004

I sat and watched as you backed out in your car.
You didn't get that far.
Out of the driveway, to the end of the street.
I wish I would've been with you, but I'm
"too young to sit in the passenger's seat."

You didn't even try to hit the brake.
But why was it your life that you had to take?

They took a left, you took a right.
Then came the tunnel of light.

I watched your car dilute then clash.
I watched you slide underneath the dash.

Who knew that this crash would be fatal?
All that was left was you in a mass of metal.

And in the mass of metal lie a young girl's life.
A family or two, and a father's wife.

It’s like you knew that this would happen,
that we’d soon be laying in a pool of crimson.

Now no longer I wish I was there,
Or else I’d be in intensive care.

Just remember -
I would’ve been with you but,
“I’m too young to sit in the passenger’s seat.”
