Outlooks and Requiems

by Idiosyncratic   Apr 30, 2007

I write to calm the silence
To compromise its' ruse
To hold in grasping palms of hands
The memories we lose

I write to shatter loneliness
To chip away the fear
To hoarsely utter blasphemy
Or words spoken, so dear

I write in hopeless longing
For anger and for lust
But in these careless happenings
Timing is a must

I write to close the windows
That shutter in my heart
That is included partially
But only plays one part

I write a bit for memory
Jot down a past or two
Only recalling tiny pieces
And the madness that ensues

Beautiful poem, dear. It's full of lines destined to be quotes, because of it's witty rhyme and powerful meaning. Like the first line, 'I write to calm the silence,' that was classic and a funny brain teaser. This is an incredibly strong poem, no doubt. The ending pops out at me and punches me in the face, seemingly, because of how true I find it, and how simply, but magestically it was written. The rest of the poem was of the same high quality. This is an example of how to make a perfect poem.

    Truly yours,

I loved it. The first stanza had to be my favorite, but the whole poem was great. I think it's a great topic, feelings most everyone can relate to, but it's still very unique. Very well written, word choice was great, as always.

Again the word choice has left me speechless this poem is amazing. I am not sure I got your entire meaning, but the flow was great, the emtions were heartfelt, and deep, and the vocab was the best. 5/5
