A Paradox

by BECCA lessTHANthree   Apr 30, 2007

There is no balance

She is nothing
And she is everything

She understands
She can never comprehend
There is a sense of loss
When she has nothing

There is no balance

She is falling
And she is flying

When she reaches rock bottom
And the ground won't break open
When the earth stops moving
She is falling

There is no balance
There is no truth

There is only What Is.

She seems to be in a sort of limbo, not being able to find a middle ground for peace. Not being able to break through to the other side of a pain or hard time. It is a deep poem, I like the unique structure of it.

The poem was interesting due to the dual points of view. The highs and the lows. However, the ambiguity of the poem creates a slight confusion for the reader. The flow was rough and could use small edits to help improve the fluency. All in all the poem's meaning ended up strong even though the reader had to sift through the double meanings and contradictions. 5/5.
