Forever grieving your absence

by The Mr Simon   Apr 30, 2007

You stopped my heart cold
When I saw you yesterday
Stuck without words to say
Long since words were told

As you were passing by
I barely choked a greeting,
For within had ceased beating,
You turned and said "Oh, Hi"

Oh, if I could rewrite time
I'd set the records straight
Should be no more love & hate
And undo every hurtful crime.

Been so long, still hurts the same,
I have none but myself to blame.
Thinking of the times we had
All but one still makes me sad

No need to say I love you
Should the world suddenly end
Everyday I told you
When you were still my friend

Sing you every love song
And give you all the best
Calm you every time you stressed
Be who you could count on

But I failed you...

I pray peace will fill your days,
God loves you, forever, always,
Although love and hate you I do,
I miss you, I miss you.

A chance, Oh just one more,
To tell you a short story,
Filled with words my heart must pour,
It starts and ends with sorry.

Forever grieving your absence
I write this in remembrance.

* Last poem to Nicky, I finally got my words right.
