What has this world come to
That everyone's pitted against each other,
Mother against daughter,
Sister against brother?
How would any of them feel
To wake up and hear the news,
The one that they all care about
Is the one they have to lose?
When would they even begin to care?
They'd think it was just another lie,
That their dearest and closest was sitting at home,
Happy, alone, but just fine.
They won't realize it until the morning comes,
And their friend doesn't show at the door,
Because it's only when we lose them
That we realize how important they are.
