When My Eyes Were Closed

The day I opened my eyes,
I saw everything so clear;
All the fakeness and the lies,
Down my cheecks falls a tear.

The world isn't the same;
Love isn't something real,
And trust is a stupid game;
Smiles hide the real deal.

The pain of everything around,
Caused the scars on my arm;
My heart fell to the ground,
And now I'll never be warm.

My tears became a stain,
Trembling down my face;
Feelings I couldn't explain,
Memories became a trace.

Now I just want to close my eyes:
Pretending that everyone is good,
And the world never held any lies;
Tears don't exist in my childhood.

My eyes were closed to everything;
I saw things the way I wanted to,
My smile used to be everything;
It was like a fantasy, real and true.
