Stop and Think

As you drove away
Did the stop signs make you think
Just maybe they were telling you
You need to go back home?

As you hit that bump
Did you shake your head
To make you stop thinking it meant
That you should turn back around?

Each time the light turned red
Did it make you question
Whether or not you should come back
And stop the nonsense going on?

All I know is that I prayed they would
That they would make you stop
Just think for a split second
And wake you up to reality before you did those stupid things

~It's in no way my best poem but it means a lot to me for personal reasons so I'd really appreciate r/r/c...thanks! :)

    It may not be your best (as you said) but it was still pretty damn good
    I would never have thought of associating stop signs and red lights to going back home after running away

    I understand this poem and that's what makes it good; that it's personal. i like the first stanza the most. it's a piece from the heart and a non-rhymer...cool to see you do that!
