Angel's Kiss

by Veronica   May 1, 2007

Look at that girl in the street,
How could we ever think our lives complete,
When we find in her eyes what she sees and we miss,
And realize she's the only one who's been given an Angel's Kiss.

There's something in her that we cannot see,
Because to find just how fully blessed is she,
We'd have to look past the dirty hair,
To see that without her compassion, our lives are bare.

For we take our blessings for granted, we have been remiss,
And now she's the only one worthy of an Angel's Kiss.

She should be but a child,
Her life simple, her problems mild,
But if we could look into her heart,
We'd have only one wish: To let her have a new start.

We would think that's what she'd want,
That'd she'd gladly receive something special to flaunt,
But she's grown too mature and too wise,
To know it's not always best to look through someone else's eyes.

For we take our blessings for granted, we have been remiss,
And now she's the only one worthy of an Angel's Kiss.

Her pain and her suffering is so complex, so deep,
She was never too scared to take that last leap.
We are too selfish; we have too much to fear,
And now in return, our eyes have been closed, we cannot hear.

For we take our blessings for granted, we have been remiss,
And now she's the only one worthy of Angel's Kiss.

Our lives can change though, become whole once more,
If we look in her eyes, and open the door.
If we put our past behind us, and stop all our sinning,
We'll find she's been waiting to give us a new beginning.

For we took our blessings for granted, we were remiss,
So that she was the only one worthy of an Angel's Kiss.

But our lives can be pure; we can find eternal bliss,
All in the love of an Angel's Kiss.
