Illusion (is not a dream)

by NeferNoir   May 1, 2007

The sleepy mask,
opened it's hollow eyes.
The lone scarecrow,
bared it's broken fangs.
Awakened.
Threatened.

The mermaid screams,
as I burn her tail.
I won't weep,
if you leave again.
Pained.
Abandoned.

The thirteenth nightmare,
will steal your soul.
So when I wake up,
I am hollow.
Emptied.
Stolen.

The stars withered,
when I plundered the moon.
Open the skies,
I want to fly.
Cruel.
Evaded.

The night ended with screamings,
I cursed and prayed in confusion.
My world cease to exist.
Illusion.

Wow! I think, WOW! Simply stunning poem, it's tone left me speechless, truly powerful rhythm. You did fantastic job, very descriptive and interesting piece and atmosphere is dark and absolutely captivating. I truly liked everything about this one, very originally written with creative choice and combinations of words. Bravo! I enjoyed very much in every line!

What beautiful imagery you created in this piece. It created very vivid pictures in my mind.

Flow was flawless throughout the entire piece, and I found the piece both original and unique in concept.

LOVED the ending, very intense and hardhitting.

All in all, a beautifully written piece.
