When She Sleeps

by Tony   May 1, 2007

She still believes in Angels,
Sometimes in me.
Sometimes she lets me inside,
Most times she hides her key.
But when she sleeps,
She's where she wants to be,
And I know it's not here with me.

And so we share this bed
But I couldn't be more alone,
All the lights are on,
But there's really no -one at home.
And she smiles in her sleep,
As she's where she wants to be.
And dreams of what could have been.

There's more pebbles on the beach,
More fishes in the sea,
These are just some of the stupid things
That people say to me.
But when I sleep
I'm where I want to be,
In dreams that she still wants me.
