Remember

by Christie   May 1, 2007

Don't forget, when something happens,
To greatly help yourself,
Someone else is greatly struggling,
In desperate need of help.

For every nice word you've ever said,
An innnocent child is beat,
For all the truth you will ever speak,
Another will succumb to deceit.

And for every bed you've ever slept in,
A child sleeps on the street,
For every hug you've ever recieved,
Somebody admits defeat.

And with every smile on your face,
Another child softly cries
With every laugh you stridently shriek,
Another child slowly dies.

Remember the way in which you laughed,
Streaming from joy came tears,
Then think of the child you so readily forgot,
Crying in helplessness and fear.
