Praying For Our Troops

by Lauren   May 1, 2007

I watch these people, gazing up at the heavens
I know what they're thinking, for I hear the sirens
They close their eyes, saying a soft prayer
Asking for angels to help in their despair

This was back then, when all thought the world had stopped
When those planes hit and the towers had dropped
Lives had changed, friends and family lost
Gravity weighing down on them, feeling everyones exhaust

Troops were sent out, defending our nation
To a different and far away location
Six years past and still, I hear these prayers
Wanting their loved ones home, looking to the man upstairs
