Forget It

by Brittany   May 1, 2007

You think this is a game,
That I'll just accept the way you feel,
That I'll take the words you throw,
And lock them in my heart.

This isn't a game,
I won't accept the way you feel,
Those words will hit the wall I've put up,
And my heart will be safe.

You can't say you love someone,
Or consider them a friend,
Then threaten you life,
And hold them responsible.

Don't depend on me to pull you back,
Don't use me to pull yourself up,
I'm not the weak person I once was,
I won't fall for you this time.

I've learned from that year,
I've also learned from being alone,
I can hold myself up,
I can stand on my two feet.

If you can't accept the change,
Then just walk away from me,
Walk away from our friendship,
I'm not wasting my time.

I won't try to glue the pieces,
I won't try to heal the scars left by words,
This isn't worth the effort,
You aren't worth my effort.

Just forget the way it was,
It's never going to go back to that,
I'm not going to relive that time with you,
Walk away from those memories,
If they truely haunt you so badly.

I really like this. Its got a really good format and the way you used the words in exactly the right places rock. And if that sounds too stupid then I just meant your a great writer and I love the poem. Bye, Sami
