Love Letters

by Chad Picard   May 1, 2007

What happens to the papers, cards, and greetings
what happens to all the missives that are sent?

Are they looked at for a moment
only briefly valued
do they end up crumpled and soon landfill-bound?

Or are these papers cherished
for year after year
kept in a bedroom dresser
there to gather dust

Perhaps they are so dearly held
to stay upon our persons
where they are soon by sweat dissolved

How long do they last?
these card stock Cupid's arrows
these paper aphrodisiacs
over-gilded and covered in filigree

Do they make a difference
have they any point
Or do they merely serve
to soothe our vanity?

Well written once again the vocab is greatm but maybe a little too showoffish idk could just be me, maybe I am not used to that. anyway the emtion was strong, and the flow was great, and the message was clear. 5/5
