Turn a blind eye

by honeypot   May 2, 2007

Malnourished bones
Swollen tummies
No clean water
No strong mommies

Flies on faces
Tear stained cheek
How could we
Let them get so weak

We look at them
And eat our dinner
"Potatoes dear?"
As they get thinner!

Can we price a human life?
It seems indeed we might
As starvation continues
Why not ignore their fight?

It's not just a commercial
To some twisted TV show
Or would you pay more interest
If it was someone that you know?

Another human being
In need of basic care
Please dont turn your head away
As if they are not there

So curl up in your bed tonight
And just remeber this
If it was your child with no food to eat
Is ignorance still bliss?
