Who Listens??

by surrender to a broken heart   May 2, 2007

In a field which is so vast;
In a street thereâ??s lots of noise;
You hear me calling out;
In a dim and distant voice.
Please help! Can you respond?
Please help! Itâ??s all gone wrong!
Itâ??s not the way I worked it out;
Far from it canâ??t you see?
In that field which is so vast and quiet;
Nobody there except me.
So who will listen to my cry for help?
Nobody comes along;
To kill the pain of this heartache;
My fault was it all along?
So close to the edge it crumbles away;
My feet do stand upon it;
The grief I feel will fade someday;
Sub-side, no more, forgotten.
So who will listen on the other side?
Too late your fault, Iâ??m gone;
To fly away to heaven today;
So much sea, so much sky, so much fun.
All I wanted was for you to listen;
But no you couldnâ??t do that.
And nobody will come when I fall to my death;
Be careful be safe and donâ??t hang on.
The next time that somebody asks for your help;
Take a minute, take a seat, and let them talk.
Just listen to the words that they have to say;
It will help them in the end.
Donâ??t make the mistake that you did before;
Take the time to care for your friend.
