Insane Love

by Krysten   May 2, 2007

Silver and beautiful
yet looks better dressed in red
absently these sick thoughts
drift through my head
i am in love with my blade
have i truly gone insane
to love this little piece of metal
that takes and brings my pain
it shines in the lights
beaconing me to lose
life or death or just a cut
which one will i choose
love comes in many forms
obsessive is what i label mine
for even when i turn away
i cant leave my blades behind
at night i hold them close
as blood mix with tears
of going too deep i dream
yet it is still my biggest fear
hanging on the edge
secretly hoping to fall
yet until i can
my blade helps me to stall
with out it i die
yet with it i will too
for this love i feel is strong
this insane love is true

^^ Those two lines were what captured me from the beginning. The rest didn't really live up to them in my opinion. I almost wish you'd have not said anything about cutting or blades, and just continue suggestions like you have in these first two lines. Just give the reader images and trust them to put it together.
    It was brilliant though.
    4/5.

Those 4 lines were so strong and really hooked me into the piece from the start. I found this to be an intense thrilling read. A powerfully written poem with an amazing flow. Well done on writing such a great piece of poetry. Keep up the good work~mel
