The Day (Part VI)

by Beautifully Disfigured   May 2, 2007

Her father takes her hand
kisses it and then
whispers in her ear
"You're still my darling, dear"

He walks to his seat
she turns to stand in front of the one she loves
He tucks the curls behind her ear
and wipes away the tears

The preacher begins to speak
her knees are getting weak
his stomach flutters with butterflies
as they look into each others eyes

Her hands are in his
he's trying not to cry
he looks into her eyes
they're shining in the light

His smile is even bigger
as he looks at her
he remembers their time together
and he craves her more and more
