Crimson Tears

by Brittany   May 2, 2007

Promise you'll remember, no tears and no regret.
Promise you'll remember, and you never will forget.

When it all becomes so final.
When it all becomes so clear.
When the world is crashing down on you,
And when you're filled with fear,
Look up into the heavens,
I can't promise I'll be there.
You never saw this coming,
But you never really cared.

It was you who killed me,
You ignored me, you ignored me.
For every word you said another cut upon my wrist.
And it was you who killed me,
When you ignored me, you ignored me.
In the end it didn't matter, I'm just a suicide on the list.

You never laid a hand on me,
But words cause much more pain.
If you'd only paid attention....
Now only words remain.
I bled for me, I bled for you,
Tears locked behind closed eyes.
So open up my door tonight,
I left you a surprise.

And it was you who killed me,
You ignored me, you ignored me.
For every word you said another cut upon my wrist.
And it was you who killed me,
When you ignored me, you ignored me.
I guess it never really mattered,
I'm just a suicide on the list.

Promise you'll remember, no tears and no regret.
Promise you'll remember, and you never will forget.
Promise you'll remember, no tears and no regret.
Promise you still remember, and you never will forget.
Never will forget....

I liked it, but it seemed more like a song than it did a poem. The idea behind it was put into words wonderfully though.
