Thoughts on the death of....

by Leslie   May 3, 2007

"Let me out in the rain." said the old man.
"Let me out in the rain.
If today the skies are stormy, it was meant to be this way."

"Let me out in the rain." said the old man.
"Let me out in the rain.
Put a bible in my hand. It'll be just like a Sunday.

And all I see these days are happy memories.
Yeah, all I see is truth.
All I see these days is life around me
And all I see is--

Let me out in the rain." said the old man.
"Let me out in the rain.
Just want to breath one more time, feel the ocean on my face."

"Let me out in the rain." said the old man.
"Let me out in the rain.I know I don't have strength to walk,
but please help me out of this place.

And all I hear these days are sobs of sorrow.
Yeah, all I hear is truth.
All I hear these days are words of parting.
And all I hear is--

And all I see these days are happy memories.
Yeah, all I see is truth.
All I see these days is ghosts around me
And all I see is you."

Very interesting choice of form and flow. I really enjoyed reading this piece of yours. I thought it was unique, there is defintely not a poem that could come close to your style. I liked the meaning, and I thought the ending really wrapped everything up. Good job, I'm looking forward to reading more of your works. 5/5.
