Rainy Days and Silent Souls

by Twisted Heart   May 3, 2007

As I peer out my window
And rain beats on my pane
I'm captured in the silence
By the hurt that grips again.

Inside the walls are shelter
But inside my soul there creeps
A bit of longing for someone
To tend me while I sleep.

To feel the pain of hunger
That beats upon my breath
And miss the hold of loving
That lived in your caress.

So many times I feel it
The rain that seeps inside
And leaves me with a silence
After many tears are cried.

Now rainy days and silent souls
Are what I must cling to
For all the joy that I once felt
You took it all with you.
