Box of The Forgotten (Story of a Teddy Bear)

by I Seem to be the Heartless   May 3, 2007

I was once young.
You used to love me
And hug me,
Make sure I had my bath
And that I was snuggly tucked into bed.

But as the years passed
I became old,
Forgotten,
Tattered and tainted,
Dragged through the mud.

And now I lay here
In the dark
With the others you've forgotten.
I might have lost an eye,
But I can still see -

You think I am no longer of use
You've found someone new.
But as the years pass
They will end up in this box too,
Tattered, torn, tainted, old and forgotten...

  • *smiles* I liked this poem, it makes me want to get my old Teddy Bear out. Its pink and had a heart stitched into the chest. Absolutely tasteful... ^.^
