The Castle Of Thorns

by Louis   May 3, 2007

Up on the highest tower of the hall,
Chained to an old and worn out wall,
Is an angel who has lost his divine light;
Torn away and torn apart
The angel of the bleeding heart.

He has lost his merry smile,
His grin is just a lie
To the world who has created him
And that to him has given life.

The world has cursed him to the bitter hell,
The world has sworn him never ending strife

Nobody knows the place that was his home,
His past is only a forgotten throne.
No soul can witness the one he used to be,
They only see a face full of melancholy.

Woe be unto him whose sin is greater than what he's been.

His sin is to have let his wings be broken;
A sin too great;
Throughout the heavens he has been forsaken.

He is no more the rainbow after heavy rain,
The earth has turned into a barren plain.

    Thank you Katie, I'm very happy you liked my first post, it's very encouraging. I wrote this some time ago yet it's still one of my favourites; don't give up, I couldn't write anything as dramatic either when I'm in a good mood heh I use poetry as a mean to heal myself, the metaphors then come pretty much on their own and its easy - I guess it's a constructive way of throwing a tantrum (...did I just lose my neo-fans with this post?)
