For all you've done

by doug frazier   May 4, 2007

You've always been there, since I was a kid.
I don't think I could have done all the things that you did.

Dad left us all, back when we were very young.
But you didn't give up, there was a job to be done.

Through triumph and tragedy, hard times and despair.
There's not a time that you haven't been there.

Well, that was so long ago, though just a moment in time.
But you're still the best, "mother of mine!"

Even now you're there for us, to help with the problems we bear.
We all turn to your wisdom, because we know how you care.

There are debts that I owe you, that I can never repay.
For all the love that you've shown, I'd just like to say.

Thank you mom, from the very bottom of my heart.
When God created you, you were his finest work of art.

You're the best there can be, there's simply no other way.
To tell you how much I love you, on this "Mother's Day!"

Thanks for your kind comments, I wrote this for my mom about 12 years ago, it brought tears to her eyes. After all, we just have one mom, so we should do something special for them when ever we can. As always greatly appreciated. Hugs from Doug
