Hush Little Baby

by Jenni Marie   May 4, 2007

Rocking in her cot
Tears streaming down her face
Wails of terror escaping
This life is such a waste.

Just a few weeks old
Already suffered untold pain
Blood dripping down her face
Crazy thoughts in her tiny brain.

Her fingers are wrapped in plaster
Doctors were told she 'fell'
They have absolutely no idea
This girl spends her days in hell.

She's so very young
Yet her eyes weep crimson red
Panic coursing through her veins
When she should be tucked up asleep in bed.

Her little lungs screaming for air
As her face is cruelly smothered
Grasping weakly at life
Will or wont she recover?

Her neighbours are completely unaware
Of what she goes through day and night
They have absolutely no idea
That just to breathe, she has to fight.

Each time she starts to cry
Her parents whisper to her
'Hush darling little baby,'
As though they really care.

One night things went to far
As her parents had their twisted fun
They were completely unaware
This little girl's life was almost done.

Hitting her with force
Listening to her screams
Sick smiles on their faces
This was their twisted dream.

Her breathing became shallow
Her body became so still
Now she's up in Heaven
Wondering what made her parents kill.

That poor little girl
Screamed her days away
That poor little girl
Never reached her first birthday.

Oh my god. I have tears falling.
That was terrifying & scary to read. It felt real & just reading this made me upset. Knowing that this kind of stuff is real and goes on in real life - completely scares the living sh-t out of me.
