Wolves and Lambs

by Chad Picard   May 5, 2007

Wolves and lambs come to play
within the fields of clover

and here I find myself today
but neither takes me among them

sharp teeth I may lack
but my edged tongue I wield freely
so when I seek to join the pack
they soon send me reeling

so to the gentle lambs I turn
hoping from them
for succor

but from me they turn and flee
desperate to find cover

Neither wolf nor lamb am I
a dog or sheep, perhaps?

a flea-bitten mutt
or side of mutton
Or am I simply in a rut?

bow-wow baaa baaa hoooowwwll!

The message was clear, and the flow was perfect until the end, but that was diffrent and again diffrent is good. well done. 5/5

Beautiful poem. I'm still amazed I inspired that. I really loved it, it flowed nicely. I'd give it a 10 out of 10
