Reality

by Ixora   May 5, 2007

Her beauty is known
By anyone but her
The vision once was clear
But now its just a blur

They keep telling her
Hoping she would hear
But the questions still linger
She cant make them disappear

"Beautiful am i?.."
Shes asks the reflection without a tone
"Well if i am so beautiful dear mirror
then why am i all alone"

She turns away from the mirror
Turns away from their hands
She can do it all by herself
She wouldn't give in to their demands

Wrapped in all of the promises
That no ones seemed to keep
She gives up on hoping for more
And she drifts slowly to sleep

Its here shes most at peace
Because here she can pretend
That shes a normal girl
With a normal, decent friend

And here she gets that kiss
And that flutter of her heart
That only he can give
and it will never have to part

Here its perfect and serene
Until the alarm clock rings again
and everything goes back
To the way it was then

Where all her friends are dead
And shes lost him now for good
Yes, reality is wonderful
If it is only understood
