Vain My Love is Thus (my attempt at a sonnet)

by МÅťťђĕш Яĕĩŋĕßĕřg   Apr 15, 2004

I waited for thy answer, came it not.
And all my love was spilt out on this day.
I sit in the silence, waiting for thee.
I gave thee my heart, nothing thou didst say.
I should have held my tongue, this I now know
My heart is fragile, wounded like a dove.
I have learned a much needed lesson here
I should have withheld my immortal love.
Thy heart wilt remain unscathed, unbroken
Though mine cries out in pain from loving thee.
Thou wilt go on, thou can feel nothing
A love is something thou wilt never see.
My dear my heart is crying out in pain.
For thee, my love will always be in vain.
