A Boy and a Girl

Let me tell you a story about a boy and a girl
A boy with the gift of sweet talking, his head in a whirl
And a girl with the gift of putting her whole heart on the line
They both were hurt in the past, but they've left that pain behind

He was always trying to make her smile in any way
She was always thinking about him, day after day
He only thought of her, she was all he could picture
She didn't want to fall just yet for she couldn't predict the future

He was the boy she never thought she'd find
She was never that lucky, but now her eyes shine
She was the girl that he had always hoped for
He thought that she was perfect and so much more

She had some problems with herself but they've disappeared
She couldn't see the good in herself then the mirror cleared
He helped her see what he saw when he looked into her eyes
She saw a girl that she liked and now she doesn't wear a disguise

He put on a mask of complete happiness and comfort
She found that he was strong but he too had been hurt
He gave her the strength that she always needed
He made her forget how badly she had been treated

He has showed her the reason to live for each day
He taught her to accept all that comes her way
The boy that showed her how to pull through
He taught her how to always be herself too
